Creeks and streams running through our communities and landscapes are taking a beating from destabilizing factors like land use change, increasing storm intensity, and removal of streamside vegetation.
Streambank erosion is a common symptom of impacted waterways, especially in urban or urbanizing areas. While waterways are naturally resilient, there are actions that can be taken to nudge the system back towards a healthy state to protect against land loss and increase function of streamside areas for both the people and wildlife that enjoy these spaces.
These workshops offer practical knowledge for the planning, design, implementation, and management of streambank stabilization and repair projects.
