Common Name:  Silky Aster

Part sun, moderately dry to dry moisture level, most soils including clay, alkaline pH.  1 ft. height, blooms in fall, purple flowers.

Native Region:  Decatur, Coffee, Cumberland and Roane counties only

Designated a “Threatened Species” in Tennessee. Develops more slowly than most asters and harder to grow.  Typically grows in poor rocky or sandy soil with a higher pH.  Attracts butterflies and bees.
