Common Name: Fox Sedge, Brown Fox Sedge

Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, adaptable to a wide range of soils except rocky, neutral to strongly alkaline pH.  1-3 feet height, spreads moderately fast by re-seeding.

Native Region:  Statewide

Cool season.  This is an abundant sedge in Tennessee.  Grows in clumps, and seedheads spray out attractively from the center of the clump, looking like a fox’s tail.  Seedheads are short-lived.
