Full to part sun, moderately wet to dry moisture level, tolerates a wide range of soils including heavy clay, pH adaptable.  2-3 feet height, blooms in summer, pink and brown-tinted flowers, self-seeds poorly.

Warm-season grass that is designated a “Special Concern” species in Tennessee.  Fine textured, distinctive bunchgrass with leaves that curve gracefully outward forming a large fountain-like tuft.  Good fall color.  Great accent plant or groundcover for the landscape.  Does best on low fertility soil. Relatively slow-growing and slow to establish.  Attracts birds.
