Full to part sun, moderately dry to dry moisture level; requires lean gritty, rocky soil; moderately acid pH.  6-12 inches height, blooms in spring, white flowers, spreads by rhizomes

Native Region:  Statewide, lightly in West Tennesse

Tiny, evergreen plant with gray green leaves covered with downy hairs. Is allelophatic, producing a growth inhibitor to keep other plants from taking its water. Can form an attractive ground cover but difficult to grow if its requirements are not met.
