Common Name: Purple-sheathed Graceful Sedge, Graceful Sedge

Part to full shade, moderately wet to medium moisture level, most soils except rocky, very strongly acid to neutral pH.  2 -3 feet height, spreads slowly by re-seeding.

Native Region:  Very lightly statewide except absent in the Coastal Plain

Cool season.  A common sedge of forests.  Clump-forming sedge with fine blades and arching stems that produce hanging strings of bead-like seeds.
