
Common Name: Gray’s Sedge, Common Bur Sedge, Morning Star Sedge
Best in full sun but tolerates light shade, wet to medium moisture level, rich soil, moderately acid to neutral pH. 2-3 feet height, spreads slowly by seed and slowly by rhizomes.

Native Region: Statewide but most concentrated in western half of the state
Cool season. Showy flowers on a low maintenance plant. Attractive fruits remain on the plant in winter, which creates an interesting accent. Lovely planted alone or in a group. Resents drying out and suffers in dry soil and hot sun.
