Common Name: Awl-fruited Oval Sedge, Blunt Broom Sedge

Full to part sun, wet to medium moisture level, sandy loam soil, strongly acid to neutral pH.  1 ½ – 3 feet height, spreads slowly by re-seeding and by rhizome

Cool season.  Occurs in a greater variety of wet habitats than most other sedges.  Adds a nice green touch to a meadow planting.  Often forms colonies.  Attracts butterflies and birds.
