Common Name: Blue Cohosh

Shade, moderately wet to medium moisture level, rich soil, slightly acid to neutral pH.  1-3 ft. height, blooms in spring, yellow-green flowers, spreads very slowly by rhizomes.

Germination Code:  M.  Slow to establish from seed & does not bloom until third or fourth year.

Native Region: Middle and East Tennessee

Forms a large clump with large, bright blue berries in July which are poisonous.
