Common Name: Black Cohosh, Bugbane, Black Snakeroot, Fairy Candles

Part sun to light shade, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, humus rich loam, moderately acid to slightly acid pH.  3-6 ft. height, blooms in summer, white flowers.

Germination Code:  ?  Seed takes 1-2 years to germinate, and plant needs 3-4 years to flower.

Native Region: Middle and East Tennessee

Long-lived bush-like plant with long candles of tiny, white, fuzzy flowers.  Does not transplant well.  Attracts bees and butterflies.
