Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, sandy or loamy soil, alkaline pH.  4 ft. height, blooms summer into fall, purple flowers.

Biennial.  Is a wetland plant in Tennessee.  Occurs naturally in wet soils in meadows, marshes, swamps, bogs and open woods.   Designated a noxious weed in some states.  Attracts butterflies and bees
