Common Name: Squirrel Corn

Dappled sunlight of woodlands, moderately wet to medium moisture level, humus rich soil, circumneutral pH.  6-10 inches height, blooms in spring, white/pink flowers.

Native Region: Middle and East Tennessee but primarily in Blue Ridge Province

Spring ephemeral that dies back in summer.  Attracts chipmunks and mice which are adept at transplanting the tubers which resemble corn.
