Common Name:  Shooting Star

Light shade or spring woodland sun, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, best in humusy fertile or light sandy soils but tolerates clay, slightly acid to neutral pH.  8-18 inches height, blooms in spring, white/pink flowers.

Germination Code: C(21), D, G  Slow and difficult to grow from seed.

Native Region:  Middle and East Tennessee

Showy flowers, charming spring ephemeral that goes dormant in summer.  One of the easier to grow of the spring ephemeral wildflowers.
