Common Name: Bottlebrush Grass

Full sun to light shade, medium to moderately dry moisture level, prefers fertile soil but tolerates a wide range of soils including clay.  2-3 feet height, blooms in mid-summer, green flowers, will readily self-seed under optimum growing conditions.

Cool season.  Attractive, durable grass that is easy to grow.  Occurs naturally in lightly shaded woodlands.  Named for its bristly seedheads that resemble a bottle brush.  Tolerates dry shade.  Attracts birds and butterflies.
