Cool season. Easy to grow, fast-growing grass. Excellent for stabilizing wooded hillsides. Also ideal for planting along woodland streams and floodplains. May turn brown in the heat of Tennessee summers but re-grows in cooler weather of fall. Attracts birds and butterflies; larval host for some skippers and satyrs.
