Common Name: Trout Lily, Dogtooth Violet

Part to full shade, moderately wet to medium moisture level, deep humus rich soil, moderately acid to neutral pH.  4-6 inches height, blooms in spring, yellow flowers, spreads by stolons.

Germination Code:  E (plants will not flower for 4-5 years)

Native Region:  Statewide and very widespread in Middle Tennessee

Showy flowers and colorful leaves.  Spring ephemeral so foliage disappears by late spring.  Plants will slowly spread to form large colonies if left undisturbed in preferred growing conditions.
