Common Name:  Galax, Wand Flower, Beetleweed

Light to medium shade, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, rich sandy or loamy soil, strongly acid pH.  10-20 inches height, blooms in summer, white flowers, spreads slowly by rhizomes.

Native Region: Unaka Mountains and the Valley and Ridge Province of eastern Tennessee

Dainty white flowers on leafless stalks.  Evergreen foliage.  Forms colonies. Does not do well in the disturbed, impoverished soil of the typical home landscape.
