Common Name:  Greater Fringed Gentian

Part shade, wet to moderately wet moisture level, sandy soil, neutral to alkaline pH.  8-24 inches height, blooms in fall, blue flowers.

Biennial.  One of the most beautiful of the gentians with its delicately fringed petals and striking blue color.  To form a colony, seedlings must be set out for 2 consecutive years.  It is a wetland plant in Tennessee.
