Common Name:  Sharp-lobed Liverleaf, Sharplobe Hepatica

Morning sun in spring with full shade in summer (essential), medium moisture, organically rich soil, slightly acid to neutral pH.  3-5 feet height, blooms early spring, pale blue to lavender to white flowers.

Germination Code: C(30).   Plants will not bloom for 3 years or more.

Native Region:  Middle and East Tennessee

One of the earliest spring wildflowers.  Flowers can last up to 2 months before fading.  New leaves appear only after the flowers have blossomed. In autumn, leaves turn shades of russet and purple and persist through winter because the plant continues to use them as a source of nourishment, so do not remove old leaves.  Very low maintenance plant once established.
