Common Name:  Goldenseal

Light shade with a little spring sun, medium moisture level, well composed soil with lots of leaf mold, slightly acid to neutral pH.  6-15 inches height, blooms in spring, greenish yellow to greenish white flowers.

Native Region: Statewide

Designated a “Special Concern, Commercially Exploited Species” in Tennessee.  Showy flowers and showy red berries.  Low maintenance and easy to grow.  Rare due to over-collection.
