Common Name: Yellow Star Grass, Gold Star

Part sun, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, tolerant of most soils but prefers sandy, moderately acid to neutral pH.  6-12 inches height, blooms late spring to early summer and then sporadically all summer, yellow flowers.

Native Region:  Middle and East Tennessee, West Tennessee Uplands

A small plant that can be easily confused with a grass unless its star-shaped flowers are seen.  Attracts bees and butterflies.
