Cool-season grower that is easy to grow.  Also called Wire Grass (even though it is not a grass) due to its tough stems.  Found throughout North America in a variety of weedy locations such as parking lots, fields, thickets, swamps, pastures and along roadsides and paths.  However, it is also an attractive plant that is diminutive in size and fills in nicely between other plants.  More drought tolerant than many rushes.  Withstands considerable trampling along paths
