Common Name: Rice Cut Grass, Rice Cutgrass

Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, adaptable to a range of soils including gravelly and sandy.  2 ½ – 5 feet height, blooms summer into fall, green flowers, spreads aggressively by rhizomes and often produces dense colonies.

Cool season. Leaves are sharp-edged with fine saw-teeth which can cut bare skin.  Attracts birds and butterflies.
