Common Name:  Northern Blazing Star, Devil’s Bite

Full sun, medium to dry moisture level, prefers dry sandy or rocky soil, slightly acid to alkaline pH.  2-4 ft. height, blooms late summer to fall, pink-lavender flowers, will naturalize.

Germination Code: C(60)  Requires several years to establish from seed.

Native Region:  Only occurs in 8 counties — Decatur, Franklin, Bledsoe, Cumberland, Morgan, Polk, Monroe and Roane

Attractive and easy to grow as long as it does not receive too much moisture and is not placed in rich soil.  Attracts butterflies, hummingbirds, birds, and bees.
