Common Name:  Sensitive Plant, Sensitive-Briar, Little-leaf Mimosa

Full sun, moderately dry to dry moisture level, sandy or rocky soil.  2-3 feet height, blooms spring into summer, hot pink or lavender flowers.

Native Region:  Scattered statewide except absent in far western counties

This is a vine with weak, sprawling stems.  Leaflets are sensitive to the touch and fold up against each other if one brushes against them.  Fragrant, attractive flower.  Interesting foliage.  Member of the Pea Family.  Has 1/8 inch long recurved thorns on the stem, small but sharp.
