Full to part sun, wet to moderately wet moisture level, rich soil, alkaline pH. 1-3 ft. height, blooms late summer to fall, yellow flowers, spreads by rhizomes.

Native Region: Occurs only in 9 counties scattered statewide: Crockett, Stewart, Coffee, Warren, Bledsoe, Cumberland, Bradley, Union and Greene
Designated a “Threatened Species” in Tennessee. This is a semi-parasitic plant that gets some of its nourishment from the roots of surrounding plants. Fern-like leaves. Rare and tends to occur only in high quality wetlands.
