Common Name:  Creeping Phlox

Part shade, medium moisture level, prefers rich organic soil but will tolerate sandy and clay soil, moderately acid to neutral pH.  6-8 inches height, blooms spring to early summer, lavender flowers, spreads both by rhizomes and by re-seeding in optimum growing conditions.

Showy, fragrant flowers.  Spreading, matt-forming plant that makes a good groundcover.  Vigorous plant but powdery mildew can be a problem with summer humidity.  Rabbits can also be a problem.  Does poorly in full sun.
