Full sun to light shade, moderately dry to dry moisture level, rather poor rocky or sandy soil. 6-12 inches height, blooms in spring, yellow flowers, spreads by re-seeding.

This buttercup is the earliest to bloom and is unique for its diminutive size, relatively large flowers, and deeply scalloped leaves. Good candidate for the rock garden. All parts of the plant are poisonous; it can produce minor skin irritation if touched. Attracts bees.
