Common Name: Zig Zag Goldenrod, Broadleaf Goldenrod
Full sun to shade, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, adaptable to a range of soils, strongly acid to neutral pH. 1-3 feet height, blooms late summer into fall, yellow flowers, spreads both by re-seeding and at a moderate rate by rhizomes.

Its common name comes from the crooked stems that zig-zag back and forth at 45 degree angles between nodes. Very easy care, attractive plant. Adapted to dry conditions and sometimes forms colonies. One of the most shade tolerant goldenrods. Attracts bees and butterflies. Birds eat the seed.
