Common Name: Sweet Goldenrod, Anisescented Goldenrod

Full to part sun, medium to moderately dry moisture level, average to poor sandy soils and tolerates heavy clay, prefers moderately acid pH but is pH adaptable.  2-5 feet height, blooms in fall, yellow flowers, will naturalize by rhizomes and re-seeding.

Plant has a neat form with rich, showy flowers and anise-scented leaves.  A tea can be brewed from its leaves and dried flowers.  It is easy to identify by crushing and smelling the leaves.  Easy to grow and does not spread as aggressively as some of the other goldenrods.  Attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
