Full sun, medium to dry moisture level, loamy or sandy or gravelly soil, neutral pH.  4-5 feet height, blooms in fall, yellow flowers, spreads by rhizomes to form dense colonies.

‘Golden Fleece’ is a popular dwarf cultivar at 18 inches height and is the variety most commonly sold by nurseries although a few nurseries do carry the species.  Attracts butterflies, bees and birds.
