Common Name: Celandine Poppy, Wood Poppy

Part to full shade, moderately wet to moderately dry moisture level, rich soil, slightly acid pH.  12-18 inches height, blooms in spring, yellow flowers, readily self-seeds.

Native Region: Middle Tennessee and the Valley and Ridge Province

Desirable plant with showy flowers for eastern wildflower gardens.  Much less aggressive than the introduced European species. Goes dormant in early summer if plants dry out.
